Corporate Social Responsibility

At SRMT, Corporate Social Responsibility is an inherent component of its long term business strategy that shapes the value system supporting the company’s vision & mission. This business strategy also accounts for and is responsible for the decisions and choices made each day by its executives, managers, employees and business partners as they engage with the society at large. It’s a broader framework that covers how SRMT lives & practices its values through its behavior: in the products it manufactures, in the services it offers, in how it treats its employees, in how it ensures a sustainable work environment.

Social responsibility and sustainability is an integral part of the SRMT ethos since its inception, and was crafted to constructively and consistently give back to society and contribute to social well-being.

Environmental Policy

Basic Principle on the Environment

SRMT recognizes co-existing with the global environment is an important management issue and is committed to realize sustainable growth of the society through the combined efforts of all members in all business operations.

Basic Policy on the Environment

Based on this principle, SRMT will lead society by carrying out environmental protection activities quickly and effectively with the consideration for climate change, biodiversity and finiteness of resources to hand over a healthier environment to future generations.

  • Promote activities to realize this policy by the organization with clearly defined responsibility and resources assured by Top Management.
  • Contribute to the society by creating and supplying eco-conscious products in the lifecycle perspective to the market.
  • Conduct eco-conscious production by assessing potential environmental impact from the product designing stage
  • Comply with national and local environmental laws, regulations and agreements with suppliers and customers, and also correspond to social needs.
  • Act proactively with the consideration for contributions to protect environment and conserve ecosystem through communication and interaction with local society.
  • Improve environmental performance continuously to achieve mid-long term targets and realize the environmental vision.
Protecting Nature and Biodiversity

In order to make its products, SRMT uses various metals and oxides as raw materials. These come from mineral ore and other sources mined all over the world. Mining for ore involves the risk of damage to the environment, including landscape damage, clearing of forests, changes in water sources, and possible effects on the ecosystems.

As a manufacturer of components, we cannot simply stop using raw materials, but we can try to mitigate adverse effects. We actively promote not only raw material resource savings by improving production efficiency, we also engage in activities aimed at protecting forest resources, water resources, and more.

All SRMT employees are aware of the impact on the environment from production activities. We consider the relationship between business operations and the environment and strive to protect a diverse global environment. SRMT expressly provides that employees are to consider contributions to ecosystems and take proactive action at all times.

Environmental Management System

EMS comprehensively address environmental issues that are becoming ever more complex and globalized. It goes beyond the approach focusing on single sites, allowing us to respond promptly and effectively while remaining aware of the big picture.

The production site of SRMT have applied ISO14001* certification and aimed at promoting SRMT Environment, Health and Safety.

SRMT invites suppliers to briefing seminars for business partners. Issues to be addressed will include reducing environmental impact at the procurement stage.

SRMT recognizes how important it is in management to assess environmental impact throughout the full lifecycle of products.

Through these seminars SRMT plans to emphasize to suppliers the importance of issues both societally and for business, and we will ask suppliers to take further environmental action and cooperate by making the necessary improvements.
