Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide—surpassing lung cancer for the first time in 2020—with an estimated 2.3 million new cases. October is observed as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year’s international campaign focused on increasing awareness and raising funds for further research into breast cancer. SRM Technologies joined Estée Lauder Companies’ annual campaign to create awareness about early detection and support the survivors in their fight against cancer.

The purpose of the ‘Tech Day in Pink’ initiative was to unite technologists and IT professionals worldwide around breast cancer awareness, education, fundraising, and help build a cancer-free world. SRM Technologies had a three-phase awareness activation program aimed at empowering its employees and the public.

A Photo-op setup was installed in our Chennai office for employees to wear pink or pink ribbons, click pictures, upload them on social media platforms and share what it means to be part of this initiative. Informative mailers and internal campaigns were also run to encourage men to participate actively, as the cause doesn’t focus on women alone. In addition, the company also sponsored mammogram screening for its women employees who are 40 years & above to help in early detection and address any myths or hesitancy among them.

We were overwhelmed to see our employees who actively participated in this campaign and showed their support. SRM Tech believes in prioritizing all aspects of employee well-being and doing our best to support and positively impact the community we live in.
